No. of Episodes: 13 + 2 OVA
Genre/s: Romance, Mystery, School life, Fantasy, Psychological, Drama, Action
Award/s: Best Anime of the Year (2007)

Plot: A highschool boy who likes taking pictures of the sky, Yorito Morimiya was glad to meet someone who likes the sky as well. This person was Matsuri Shihou, a strange girl he accidentally met one early morning when he suppose to take a picture of the sunrise. But unfortunately, she can't directly see the sky for some unknown reasons so Yorito promised her that he would find a way for her to see the actual sky.It is later revealed the Matsuri is not a human but a Yaka*. Upon knowing that Matsuri's life is in danger because someone wants to kill her, he decided to let her stay at his house where he lives alone.
When his sister Aono found it, she immediately disapproved it. What's the reason behind it? Is Matsuri related to Aono and Yorito's unrevealed past? Why is Matsuri's life being threatened by someone..? And who is it?

Pros: One notable fact about Sola is its numerous entangled mysteries. There are so many questions arise starting from the first episode up to the middle part. The good thing is all have been cleared slowly as the episodes ran out. The ending is well-done though not totally a happy one.

The illustration is wonderful especially the pictures of sky featured frequently in the show. The music is nice and soothing to the ears and not so boring at all.

Cons: Some scenes especially the fan-service is cliche and the scenes that they tried to be funny is not so funny at all. Though the plot is well-planned and splendid as a whole, its downside is its slow pacing at the first part up to the middle but it gradually develops around the last episode.

Rating: 7.5/10

"Yaka (夜禍)- is a supernatural being in the Sola universe. Yaka have many supernatural powers, such as: strong physical ability, fast regeneration, and never aging body, among other powers. A Yaka is hurt by direct exposure to sunlight, but the wound can be healed in time if the exposure is not excessive; a Yaka is immortal unless exposed to too much sunlight or has received fatal wounds. Matsuri explains that a Yaka is the embodiment of human agony and pain and that such creatures are meant to always be alone."(-Wikipedia)

P.S. I'm sorry if it's not Midori Days I'm featuring today. I forgot it's really Sola that I have written a review.
